Pet Care in the Upper West Side

Uncategorized

One of the many great things about the Sagamore is that it’s a pet friendly community! We welcome cats and dogs and many different sizes and breeds and have a great location in the Upper West Side near parks and shopping that make raising a fur baby a little bit easier. There’s many different ways you can keep your furry friend in tip–top shape without having to go too far.

Is your pet fixed? Besides controlling the pet population, having your pet fixed can also protect him or her from certain diseases and ailments. The Toby Project helps New Yorkers by spaying and neutering pets. Every weekend for the past six years, The Toby Project mobile clinic truck help neighborhoods by spaying and neutering dogs and cats for free – in order to prevent many animals from being put down.  Besides making sure your pet is spayed or neutered, if you have a pup, you want to be sure they’re kept active and entertained. A great way to do so is by joining a doggy activity group. Playground Pups, an Upper West Side activity center, is a great place for your dog. Located on Amsterdam Avenue, between 92nd & 93rd, they offer daycare, grooming, crate-less boarding, obedience training, puppy playgroups and a pup boutique. Raising a dog is a full-time job, and this is a great option for residents who work full time and aren’t able to take care of their pup from 9-5.

As we all know, there are times when our busy schedules keep us from our pets and it’s a great convenience to have a place we can count on for dog walking and cat-sitting. One such place, highly reviewed and close by, is Wags West Dog Walking and Cat Sitting on 910 W End Ave. Since 2006, Wags West has been providing caring, experienced pet services for the dogs and cats of the UWS, Morningside Heights, and West Harlem.

Need some basic pet supplies for Fluffy & Fido? Lucky for us, Petco is within walking distance from The Sagamore. With one on Broadway at 92st Street and another on Columbus Ave at 100th Street, we’re right between two large pet goods stores!
