On Tuesday February 9th Mardi Gras will be celebrated all over the city and it is easy for our residents here at The Sagamore to participate in the fun all over Manhattan! Here are a bunch of fun activities that will be happening throughout the week to celebrate Mardi Gras!
Dive Bar (Amsterdam and 96th St.): Right here on the Upper West Side there are Mardi Gras celebrations taking place! Street Beat Brass will be playing New Orleans inspired music starting at 8 pm and going into the early morning hours for those looking to stay out late!
Brother Jimmy’s BBQ (West 16th Street): Just a quick subway ride away, Brother Jimmy’s will be hosting Mardi Gras celebrations as well. The main attraction of the evening will be their crawfish boil! Corn and red potatoes will be offered as side dishes and there will be tons of drink specials. Frozen hurricanes will be going for $5 and if you are planning to go with a group you can order the hurricane fishbowl for $20! Miss Babs and the Kickin’ Boogie Band will be the musical feature for the night mixing in some Nola inspiration to their tunes. Visit Brother Jimmy’s website for more information!
Bourbon Street (West 46th St.): Bourbon street will have a ton of happy hour Mardi Gras specials! To celebrate the french quarters they will be offering $3 Bud Light Drafts, $4 Stella Drafts, $5 Hurricanes, $5 Cocktails and $6 Wine glasses. Those great deals aren’t even the best part! Happy hour will be all day long starting at 11am and lasting through 8pm. Their menu also offers up some traditional holiday dishes like gumbo and gator.
Fat Friday (Angel Orensanz Foundation): Bringing back one of the biggest Mardi Gras Celebrations in NYC, Fat Friday will be taking place this year on Friday February 26th. This lower east side event attracts people from all over NYC. There will be plenty of Nola style food, music and activities.
