If you’re a fan of fish entrees, you can enjoy them just as much in the fall as the summer! Before the weather gets chilly, New York Oyster Week will be taking place starting this month, and taking advantage of the last of the warmer weather. From September 16th through October 1st you can dine on the best Oysters around the city and enjoy some delicious and delectable meals!
Oyster Week will kick off with the NY Harbor Regatta & Regatta Bash. This event as part of the week of celebrations will be held on Governor’s Island. There will be live reggae music, a full oyster bar and other seafood dishes from some of the best eateries in NYC. There will also be a Cocktail Cruise before the bash. You can learn more about this event here.
Oyster Week will end on October 1st with a huge oyster extravaganza! Oystoberfest will close the week of festivities and be held at South Street Seaport. Over 20 different varieties of oysters will be available and will be, “shucked live, served raw and on a half shell”, according to the events website. To pair with your oysters there will be over 16 types of beer from different breweries served, wine, and specialty crafted cocktails for guests.
