Oktoberfest celebrations will be happening all around New York City this fall. Beginning in September, choose one or attend as many of the fun local celebrations taking place close by to the Upper West Side as you can. Here are just a few that will take place in September and continue into October that our Sagamore residents can attend for fun weekend event!
One of the biggest Oktoberfest celebrations this year will be taking place in Central Park. Starting off with a German parade, this event which kicks off NYC’s Oktoberfest celebrations will take place on September 16th. The German-American Steuben Parade has been a tradition for many years and brings together groups from Austria, Switzerland, Germany and other European countries! German American clubs from all around the U.S also come for this celebration. Following the parade hang around Central Park for more fun. To continue the season of Oktoberfest celebrations, Waterfest Oktoberfest will be held for three weekends this year. The first weekend of September 17th-18th will bring plenty of food, beer and music. Located downtown from The Sagamore at Pier 15 in the financial district, this event is worth the short subway trip! If you can’t make it to Germany this year, feel like you’re right in the heart of Munich by diving into their Oktoberfest menu featuring all traditional Oktoberfest food and pints upon pints of beer! The menu will be set as a fixed price of $8, will all beer costing the same. Live music will be played all throughout the event to help create the perfect Oktoberfest vibe.
