As the ball gets ready to drop and 2016 comes to a close, everyone around New York will be celebrating on December 31st. If you are looking to go out and about in NYC and get out of your Sagamore apartment, here are some fun events happening around the Upper West Side and the rest of New York City.
Fireworks make any big event a little more magical, and there will be plenty tall around NYC for New Years! Firework displays will be happening in Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, Prospect Park and of course Times Square! Also on the west side, you can catch Birdland Big Band in Hell’s Kitchen. To learn more about these local concerts and others, take a look here.
If you are looking to do something fun but going out isn’t for you, you can work on your fitness while ringing in 2017! In Central Park, there will be a 4 mile Midnight Run hosted by the New York Road Runners. Join other NYC residents and run into the New Year! There will also be a bike ride taking place from Brooklyn, arriving at Central Park right before the clock strikes midnight. More details about this event can be found here.
