The month of December brings an instant change in mood with festive fall decorations and colors transforming to a snowy white city winter wonderland! Whether getting into the holiday spirit for our Sagamore residents includes walking down Fifth Avenue for all the glorious windows, or visiting the Rockefeller tree, or just listening to holiday music at your Sagamore apartment, there is plenty more to do in Manhattan and around the Upper West Side for the holidays! Here are some wonderful shows taking place this month in New York City.

Mariah Carey will be performing at the Beacon Theatre here on the Upper West Side for a special Christmas show. Just a few blocks downtown from The Sagamore, you can enjoy All I Want for Christmas is You, which will be on stage for several days this month. Between December 7th and December 17th, you can catch Mariah’s famous tune along with many others. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on the Beacon Theatre’s website here.

George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker will be performed by the New York City Ballet at the David H. Kotch Theatre for the month of December. The show, which originally was performed in 1954, has been a New York City tradition ever since! With over 90 dancers, 50 cast members and 60 musicians, this magical show is a must see for getting into the holiday spirit. Music for this rendition of The Nutcracker will be from original composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. You can find more information about times, tickets and the performance by visiting their website.

Radio City Music Hall is just a short trip downtown to 50th street and hosts one of the most talked about shows during the holiday season! The Radio City Christmas Spectacular has wowed anyone who has attended a show since 1933. The show has just gotten bigger and better since, making 2016 one of the best yet! Tickets for this year are on sale now, and dates are available for the whole month of December. The show will feature the famous Rockettes, Rag Dolls and Reindeer.
