While it may not be a federal holiday and some of us have to make our way to work, one of the most important holidays is coming up this April. Earth Day is on April 22nd this year, and people all around the world will be taking part in events and activities to bring awareness to keeping our planet healthy and clean. What better way to celebrate Earth then by being outside and enjoying some fresh air? Our Sagamore residents can have some fun participating in one of many local events taking place all around NYC to celebrate Mother Earth.
March For Science: March For Science will be held right here in NYC on Earth Day this year. Just one of many gatherings taking place nationwide, participants hope to bring awareness to taking better care of our planet. The march begins early in the morning and part of it will be held right here on the Upper West Side! Our Sagamore residents can learn more by visiting the event’s website.
5K Walk and Tour: On the eve of Earth Day, celebrate by visiting some of popular NYC spots that bring out the best in nature. The 5K Walk and Tour will take you around Manhattan where you will see some of the greenest parts of the city, visit a composting site, and take a trip over to one of the city’s cooking schools where you will learn about environmentally friendly cooking!
Earth Day at Union Square: Union Square will be hosting their annual Earth Day event once again on April 18th. Booths will be set up all around where you can learn about what you can do to help the environment and how to be more proactive in several areas of your life! From running your business to be more earth friendly to tips on recycling and environmentally friendly energy use. There will be live performances and food vendors set up throughout the event as well, so visit their website to learn more about how you can participate in this NYC Earth Day celebration!
