Taste of the Upper West Side Returns

One of the Upper West Side’s most anticipated annual events will make its return to the neighborhood May 18th. Taste of the Upper West sides brings together the best from local eateries and businesses for all the enjoy. Here is everything our Sagamore residents need to know about this year’s upcoming event.

Just a few blocks downtown, Taste of the Upper West Side will be held on Columbus Ave between 78th and 77th street in one of the local school yards.

On Friday the 18th, learn about all the new local spots in the neighborhood you can dine at the next time you want a break from cooking in your Mariner apartment. All new local restaurants will be introduced and announced to participants. Soon to open or recently opened places that will be there include Amelie, Zen Taco, Make My Cake and Twin Palms.

Neighborhood favorites will also be in attendance. Visit the booth from AG Kitchen, Fishtag, Playa Betty’s and more!

Saturday there will be a special VIP reception and the announcement of all the Best of the Upper West Side winners for the year. Join Jon Fraser and other celebrity chefs and listen to what it takes to whip up some of the best meals in town. Following the reception, the night continues with Best of the West. There will be live music, special cocktail mixing stations and wine and food tastings from over 40 eateries. Prohibition, The Milling Room and Maison Pickle are just a few favorites that you can get a taste their latest dishes.

NYC Spring Festival Season is Here

Now that the weather is finally breaking 60, it’s time to start thinking about all the fun things to do outdoors here in NYC. If you are looking for something different to get out of your Sagamore apartment, or a weekend event with friends, there are several upcoming festivals around NYC our residents can attend. Here are just a few you can make your way over to this spring.

The World’s Fair: On April 28th and 29th, you can take part in a piece of NYC history by visiting this year’s rendition of the World’s Fair. The iconic festival that took place years ago is being brought back to celebrate the diversity if Queens and NYC through music, food and drinks! Over 100 vendors will be in attendance and there will be a full beer garden with live music. Activities such as Sumo Wrestling and Pizza making classes will be taking place throughout the day.

CoffeeCon: If you’re a coffee lover like most New Yorkers, you won’t want to miss this spring festival taking place next month. Coffee Con will take place for a weekend in May and feature seminars, tastings, coffee making classes and much more that is any caffeine lover’s dream.

Chocolate Fest: The 92Y across the park on the east side will be bringing all chocolate lovers around NYC together in one place. This fest will play host to the biggest and most sweet and savory chocolatier shops and makers around the city, so you can indulge in your sweet tooth. Try a truffle, chocolate ice cream, chocolate vodka and much more at this event.
