Summer is quickly approaching and one of the most memorable feelings is dipping your feet in the water and through the sand on a beach day. There are plenty of local beaches that are now open for the season just a subway ride away! Here are the best NYC beaches for our Sagamore residents to visit this summer.

Rockaway Beach: Rockaway Beach is one of the city’s hidden treasures located in Queens and about an hour away for our residents. This spot has a newly renovated boardwalk stretching 5.5 Miles. You’ll find plenty to do along the boardwalk as well and activities happening daily on the beach such as surfing and volleyball. Several restaurants are located right off the beach if you’re hungry after a swim! The beach is open now through September for NYC residents.

Orchard Beach: Located in The Bronx, Orchard Beach is is a subway ride uptown from The Sagamore. The only public beach in this borough, there are 115 acres and 1.1 miles of sand to lay out on and enjoy a summer day. You can make a full day out if the trip as the grounds have snack bars, picnic areas, a pavilion and basketball courts.

Brighton Beach: An hour away by train, Brighton Beach is just a subway ride away from The Sagamore. Hop on the one train with a easy transfer to the B, and you will soon find yourself in Brooklyn at one of the best beaches in the city. Spanning two miles long if you take a stroll along the boardwalk you can make your way to Coney Island as well!
