It’s Apple Picking Season in New York City

It’s finally that time of year when the leaves are changing, the breeze is cool and crisp and nearby orchards are budding with apples that are ripe for the picking. Whether you want to munch on them right from the trees or bring them home to cook up an apple pie in your Sagamore kitchen, now is the time to go apple picking.

Don’t worry, we have you covered if you’re not sure what farms to check out to find that perfect apple. Grab the whole family this weekend and spend a few hours at some of these popular apple orchards!

Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard, located at 130 Hardscrabble Rd, North Salem which is about one hour from your Sagamore apartment, is a family-run farm that allows visitors to pick their own apples. Be sure to grab some homemade doughnuts and cider from the store before you leave!

Throughout September and October weekends, the farm also hosts a fall festival where families can enjoy a pumpkin patch, pony rides, face painting, bouncy houses, and other carnival-like fun in addition to picking apples.

Orchards of Concklin, located at 2 S Mountain Rd, Pomona which is about 45 minutes from your Sagamore apartment, allows guests to begin picking their own apples in mid-September at their farm which has been a staple in the area for generations.

Here, you can also visit their farm stand and taste their fresh pressed apple cider. Plus, their bakery will tease your taste buds with delicious pies, cookies and cakes. You certainly won’t leave empty handed after a visit to this farm!
