Bastille Day is July 14 – Here’s Where To Go for French Food

This July 14, we will celebrate the 231st anniversary of Bastille Day, which is the anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille in 1789, a turning point of the French Revolution. However, you don’t need to have even stepped on French soil to celebrate – instead, you can head to one of the many French eateries we have in our Sagamore neighborhood.

If you’re looking to enjoy authentic French dishes such as coq au vin, cassoulet and boeuf bourguignon on Bastille Day, check out some of these French restaurants nearby for a meal that’ll make you feel like you’re dining in the heart of Paris.

La Mirabelle, located at 102 W 86th St, New York which is a six minute walk from your Sagamore apartment, is a classic French bistro from the 1980s serving traditional fare in quaint surroundings.

Owners Nathalie and her husband, Loïc, feel that everyone who enters La Mirabelle should feel like part of the family. Their staff have been with them for many years, including one who sings for the customers.  They strive to give their customers an atmosphere in which they can feel at home and enjoy a delicious meal with courteous service.

Nice Matin, located at 201 W 79th St, New York which is a six minute drive from your Sagamore apartment, is a bustling French-Mediterranean bistro with a Riviera vibe as well as outdoor seating.

For nearly two decades, Nice Matin has been an Upper West Side elegant, beautifully designed and sophisticated dining destination. It features a Wine Spectator Grand Award-winning Wine List and a French Provençal-inspired menu created by Chef Andy D’Amico, who was named “Best Chef” by New York Magazine.
