NYC’s Biggest and Best Italian Festival is Here!

While it may be hard to just hop n a flight to an Italian Villa and dine on some of the best cuisine in the world, our Sagamore residents can easily hop on the subway and take a short trip downtown and visit the next best thing– Little Italy! Little Italy is hosting an 11 Italian Food Festival Extravaganza serving the best Italian food the city has to offer.

No more than 30 minutes (well, no guarantees with the MTA) and you can be surrounded by the savory aromas of tomato sauced fried dough and much more! From September 14 through the 22nd, The Feast of San Gennaro will be taking place.

Many local restaurants and shops will open their doors and set up booths outdoors so you can have a taste of every major eatery in Little Italy! Alleva is one of America’s oldest cheese ships and they will have a tent set up right on the NYC streets serving their best cheese! You may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of co owner Tony Danza! There will also be plenty of pasta dishes, desserts, pizza and more!

Besides the great food there will be plenty of fun events taking place everyday! Parades, live music, opera night and you can even take part in a Cannoli eating competition where participants are required to eat as many Cannoli’s as humanly possible in a six minute time frame!. There will also be a meatball-eating contest so make sure if you are looking to join in you arrive on an empty stomach!
