Walking around outside the Upper West Side you may not see many spring flowers in bloom yet– especially after all the March snow. If you can’t wait and love the fresh smell of flowers in spring, Macy’s annual flower show is taking place right now for all NYC residents and visitors to enjoy! Take a trip down to herald square from the Upper West Side and kick off spring flower season.
Macy’s flower show is an exhibit that is hosted by the famous corporation. This is the 43rd year of them hosting the show. If you have never been before or have been numerous times it’s fun for everyone– one of the main reasons is that the exhibition hosts a unique theme each year. For 2017 the theme is carnival. This means bright flowers all around! In addition to the flowers live music will also be featured for guests to enjoy ad they make their way through the extravagant flowers displayed in wonderful creations of all shapes and sizes.
As guests walk in, you’ll even be greeted by a giant ferris wheel welcoming you to this year’s show. As part of the Carnival theme some displays you can expect to see include a lion with yellow and green flowers arranged on the lion’s back, a carnival booth that has been taken over by the blooming of flowers of several varieties and all the colors of the rainbow! There will be horses covered in daisies, carousels with bouquets replacing the traditional animals and a fun slide filled to the brim with yellow green and red flowers!
The Macy’s flower show is free and is running now until April 9th. You can take a look at the event’s website to learn more about the show!
