St. Patrick’s Day is here and there are parades taking place all over the world for the next few weeks. Here at The Sagamore our residents can tap into their Irish roots, or just pretend to be Irish for the day by participating in fun celebratory activities. Lucky for our residents, the biggest Saint Patrick’s Day parade in the world is taking place just minutes away from The Sagamore!
Break out your best green attire and join in on celebrating at one of the most extravagant St. Patrick’s Day events in the country! The New York City St. Patrick’s Day parade will take place on Saint Patrick’s Day on March 17th. The parade marches along Fifth Avenue, which also gives participants a great sight seeing opportunity of some famous landmarks of New York. Starting at 44th street the parade will pass by St. Patrick’s Cathedral and conclude uptown on 80th Street at the American Irish Historical Society.
The parade starts at 11 am, so make sure if you want a spot where you can see all the hustle and bustle of the St. Patrick’s Day excitement, that you get there early. Over 2 million people have lined the streets in the past so it can be a wee bit difficult–as the Irish would say– to see if you’re running late. For more information about the parade, you can visit their main website. You can also check out The guide to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in NYC, featured in TimeOut to learn even more!
