There are several spots here on the Upper West Side where you can tap into your Irish Spirit and stop by to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year! Here are a few suggestions of local spots close by to The Sagamore for our residents to check out.

 

McAleer’s Pub: Located on Amsterdam and 80th, this Irish pub is just a few minutes away for our Sagamore residents. They opened their doors 60 years ago when two cousins from Ireland decided they wanted a community place for family and friends to gather. They know great Irish food and great music. If you are looking to just stop by for some drinks grab a pint of Guinness or check out their food menu for some Irish dishes.

 

St. James Gate: Just steps away from The Sagamore on Amsterdam and 81st, St. James is another great spot to stop by this St. Patty’s Day or any time! Referring to themselves as a “classic Irish pub with a modern twist,” this pub is known for their authentic Irish cuisine. You’ll find Corned Beef and Cabbage, Guinness Stew, Celtic Irish Soup and more on their main menu.

 

The Dead Poet: This unique NYC Irish pub is right here on the Upper West Side! They aim to tap into the Irish heritage by serving authentic Irish food and of course Guinness. What makes this local spot stand out from the others, is the owner’s love of literature which has become a major theme of the bar. Guests can celebrate the work of Irish, American and other poets from all around the world while enjoying a house cocktail They are known for their creativity such as the Godot cocktail which mixes Guinness and Goose island the Dubliner mixing harp lager and Guinness. Irish Pubs and Events Near The Sagamore

If you are looking to get into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, there is no better way to do it then visiting a local pub for some authentic Irish food! The Upper West Side neighborhood is lucky enough to have a few places that will be whipping up Irish cuisine in celebration. The Sagamore residents are just minutes away from McAleer’s Irish Pubs.
